Found fuel pump cover was removed on 96 GTS modded - theories?

This was a 1999 TNT heads/cam/headers/exhaust and a 150 shot from a NX200 nitrous all done no later than 1999.

What is the most likely reason to remove the cover?

Yep. I pulled mine to install dual pumps to feed my Paxton.
