We got tired of getting small scrapes on the underside of the front bumper, no matter how careful we tried to be. The best way we could come up with was to install 1/2" thick polyurethane strips at about 12" apart inder the front bumper of the car. The strips attach using a high strength 3M automotive adhesive. We've subjected ours to some intentionally rough bumps and they have passed our tests with flying colors. Tapered on the front, they are just far enough under the front of the car to not be seen. No tools required and there's no metal to bend and drag if you bump something.

Very Nice Sean!
Put me down for a set for my 94, and when you get a chance give me a call about additional sets!

If your using the metal ones now, BE CAREFUL - WHEN you hook-it on something you'll make a mess of your lower Lip!! It's NOT pretty!

Looks like a great idea.
I bet if you painted them body color, they would barely be able to be seen.
Ill have to get some after I repaint my facia...too late for me.
How much??
Cheers

Hey, can y'get those little springy things that stick out from the wheels and make a noise when y'get to close to the curb?

Just razzin' ya Sean.

Paint them the same as the car and they'd be great. Too bad I've already trashed my front.

When the car is on the ground and you're standing in front of it, you can't see them. In the lower picture I was sitting down and you can just see the fronts of them.

The polyurethane comes in either natural (white) or black only. I bought black and made a set for the RT/10 and GTS both. 1992 to 1996 RT/10 are a little shorter than all GTS / '97 & newer RT/10's.

Here's my installation instructions on them:

For the best protection, the polyurethane strips should be placed about 11" to 12" apart, center to center. The shorter strips are for the outer ends with the longer ones in the middle.

1. Make a mark at the area where each strip will be placed.

2. Use rubbing alcohol and a clean cloth to thoroughly remove dirt, wax and road debris at each area where the strips will be placed. This is the most important step, since the strips can peel off if the area is not properly prepped. Make sure each area is clean and dry prior to installation.

3. There are 4 strips. The shorter ones are for the outer ends and the longer ones go in the middle.

4. Remove the adhesive backing and place the rear portion (the flat end) of each strip up against the lip on the underside of the bumper with the tapered end facing straight forward. The lip will help hold the strips in place and prevent them from sliding back if the bumper scrapes something very hard. Firmly press each strip in place.

We put them on the website for $19.95 a set (I put an advertisement and link in the new products section). Glad you guys like them.
