Jeff quick question...if you make the fenders wider and don't alter the spacers in the wheels..how is there not a gap in the front and pack? Where the wheels arent flush with the fender, and are instead sitting inside them?

If the wheels are not spaced out with the body, they sit way inside. Looks real bad.

I see plenty of lines on a black car. I was speaking specifically of the pic that Jeff has of the stock front end on the red car above.

Yea, that was not a real fair picture of the stock front end that I have posted. It does look weird. A good representation would be on the very first post.

Jeff I was just looking at the pics again. I just noticed the amount you added to the front quarters. Looking at the pics from the front there is about 2 more inches of body you see to the outside of the headlights compared to the stock. How much wider is the front per side?

Looks awesome.

One inch per side. Exact duplicate of the Comp Coupe. Wheels are space out 3/4 inch per side. Again, exact duplicate of Comp Coupe.

Ditto the lack of downforce and stability that comes with it. I have the Autoform front splitter and rear spoiler to help in that regard. I looked for well over a year before opting for the Autoform because it was not what I really wanted. But it came the closest. Jeff's design could fit the bill except for 2 things: it will not fit on a stock car and it is fiberglass.

So the answer of do nothing was no good, and the answer for all available designs was ** hum at best. So the bolt-on it is. Like it or not.

FYI anyone see that video of Torquemonster where a slight dip in the road made the rear lift and lose it? That is what I want to avoid, even if it looks poor to some.

me neither. It feels too big. Try to take a picture using telephoto lens and not the wide lens, maybe it's going to look better. Also - take it a little from top, from standing height.

Here is a pic taken with a better camera of the Vipair Facia, the splitter was off at teh time so I Photoshopped one on quickly and the sides were not even pinned on so the sides are a little off

this could work only in case you are planning to make also the side/sills panels (which shouldn't be big deal). Right now the fascia and mid are not equal and optically the front is disconnected from the mid. Fascia goes straight down while sill panel goes behind the wheel. With sill panel it might end up being nice wide body kit (although it remains to be seen how rear would plug in)

MADMAN,

You are one hundred percent correct, we are working on some side sills as well as you can see in our rendering with an early concept of this facia, our splitter and side sills will be paintable carbon fiber, so the user can pic from CF look or paint to their desired color. We are also working on a rear panel side pice as well ( as you also suggest ) this will continue the line and also be better for aerodynamics.

As you can see from teh side view pic the bottom of the facia lines up perfectly with the stock sides and once we add the CF splitter on the front then it would be best to add on our upcoming side splitters

While I am NOT a huge fan of this one, I think you went slightly too large on the openings, I applaud this effort you folks are putting forward to make these various body parts for our cars. I know its not easy getting some of this direct feedback (like my last one on your other thread). But I hope you continue to solicit such feedback (which i believe is the point of your threads) to get the greatest concensus of whats the best design or how to adjust/correct current ones.

Keep up the good work. :2tu:

I agree that this is an excellent start to creating a very pleasing front fascia (which is the only part of the car that I believe needs some help). I like the size of the opening, although the center vertical support appears too wide (and is there a lip on the back of the openings that needs to be shaved down?). Also, I agree that the sides are flaring out a bit in front of the wheel while the stock sill and large vent opening tuck in behind the front wheel. This is going to be the toughest part to get right, but it needs to be done. I would take a close look at the the concept coupe, comp coupe and roush car to see how they made the larger fascia aesthetically pleasing.

I just thought I would dig this photo up to compare, once we trim this piece a bit more ( it is raw and in red gel coat right now and fresh out of the mold ) and bolt the fenders to it and the splitter back onto the bottom which straightens out the sides and once we attach our aluminum front splitter like the one on the concept car, then I think, outside of our lowering the fog lights to give the car a more ominous look that our facia is pretty close to the original Concept GTS-r car look, we alsoo have a wide body facia that will bolt right up as well that is an extra inch wider on each side and has the lights higher for the "purist"

I am looking forward to see the side sills panels. I am thinking you can put me on the list. One comment for the front though - concept picture has concave (A) upper opening while yours is convection (V) - it makes the world of difference. Any chance of getting this adjusted?

The fog lights are bigger on the concept than on the production vehicle.

just an observation.

Do you guys think replacing the fog lights with bigger ones on this fascia would help with the look? It would be quite feasible.

We have been working on some lexan fog light covers like the 96 + 97 Gen 2's came with. this should give the same approxiamate look and also help with aero as well. This add on mod is next to be handled after our splitter is attached.

I for one absolutely love it. I like the straighter lines as the nose meets the splitter. If I had to suggest any mods , it might be to "thin out" the verticle bar in the center of the grill, but if you didn't, it wouldn't be a deal killer.

I like the hood version that has the lesser ridge around the vents.

When you debut your rear wing, please show a pic of what it would look like on the back of a vert as well as the coupe.

thanks
