And I ordered one also. I noticed a county cop giving the front of my car the eye while I was sitting in a restaurant. I think if I had been in the car I would have gotten the opportunity to explain why I had no front license plate.

Use my explanation:

Because it's silly and inconsistent with the manufacturer's design. I purchased the vehicle as-is, DOT approved for all 50 states.

If you get a ticket, pay it & move on. I'll never wear a front badge.

I live in Washington State which requires a front plate but don't have one on any of my cars and have never had a ticket. A couple of warnings in the last 10 or 20 years but never a ticket. Doesn't match the style of the car very well. MGH

I just got JonB's bracket. It was an easy install and I recommend getting a nice plate frame to match. Only question I have is does the short end of the prong go on top? I can't seem to have both latch at the same time - it's only the top part. It fits secure but just curious if I screwed something up... Thanks!

We tell owners to mount the plate on the bracket. Keep it in the trunk/cargo area. IF you get stopped, you just tell the officer a humble "OOPS, I took it off to wash the nose and forgot to pop it back on. I can put it back on in 10 seconds" And you CAN snap it on or off in under 5 seconds!

It is cheap insurance, and passes the 'attitude check' that most cops use.

When you order it on our website, be sure to fill in the optional 'color" section and we'll include a nice freebee....
THANKS !

Yes, short prong goes on top. Make sure you give it a good firm push on and it will snap in place. Also make sure you are installing it over the cross section of the front as that is where it is designed to go. It was designed and manufactured by a member of our club in Canada.

Jon - I have used the "just washed the car excuse" one time too many - to the same cop! Got a ticket last month!

knuk - Thank you for the reply. Cross section is the dead center, below the emblem, correct? It is definitely firmly attached but the bottom prong is not hooked to the bottom of the valence... Thanks!

The only problem with this part is the reduction in air flow. Regardless, it is a perfect solution to this problem!

I was hoping to play a bit with the front plate and see how much it helps to put a small fold in the plate (horizontally) so that the plate presents less of a flat vertical deflector and more of a ">" shape allowing more air to flow into the fascia.

I'm figuring on at least 12 more RWHP! ;)

I took my license and riveted to small brackets then zip tied it.I put tube foam from ac line set so it wouldn't rub.The brackets don't show and you can't see foam or ties.I don't want to give them a reason to stop me but they sure like to.

Because you filled out the optional data, you will get a freebee that relates to your car! Even Steel-Grey and FED cars get color-specif doo-dads.

Minor Problem: This thread (apparently) resulted in 5 Gen 2 orders in 48 hours, and I only had 3 Gen 2 in stock. 15 more shipped to me today. You'll have to wait a few days longer.......so you'll get TWO freebees!

THANKS GUYS........
