Hi all. Car is a 2010 coupe. I have tried many different gas stations and brands. Tried using different angles with the nozzle while pumping gas. And not putting the nozzle all the way in. Doesn't matter if you pump gas fast or slow. Nothing works. Once it reaches 3/4 tank it shuts off. And i have to wait a few seconds or so to pump more gas. Then after a few seconds or so. It shuts off again. I have to do this on an off for over 5mins. Before the gauge reaches full. It's alway's done this. I heard it's a fairly common problem with some cars. Is there a permanent fix for this? Thanks.

I've had luck turning the nozzle upside down...it typically only does this when the car is really warm on a warm day.

I think it's a problem with the EVAP vent solenoid sticking closed when hot. Or on cars that do this in any temp, it's closed all the time.
Vehicles that are driven on dirt roads have this problem a lot. The vent filter gets restricted with dirt. Then it doesn't matter if the solenoid works or not, the dirt becomes a plug.

Vehicles that are prone to this issue have TSB's to address it. Usually with a revised part.

Mine is an 06, and I've only had this happen a few times. -not enough for me to even worry about.

The car should be setting a code if the valve is screwed up. P1441/P1446 something or other.
PCM is supposed to look for and recognize this problem with an 'I can't vent the EVAP system' code, and turn on the MIL.

hope this helps............

:) Thanks all for your help. Not matter what the temperature is. It will still do it. Since there is a TSB. I will go in that direction. Should of thought about a TSB before. :) Thanks again!
