Fuel Cut-Off Disable?

I love the sound of my 05 when I let off on the gas and am coasting down, loud popping. The problem, after 4 seconds the fuel cut-off engages, cutting the fuel off, and the engine goes silent until almost idle RPM. I can tap the gas peddle and return the sound (fuel), but of course only for another 4 seconds.

Is there some way of disabling this fuel cut-off? Maybe a small adjustment to the throttle linkage sensor so it does not realize the peddle has been fully released?

Thanks, Joe....

It takes an SCT tuner and a VEC can probably do it but I'm not sure. When I bought my SCT from Dan at Viper Specialty the fuel cutoff was one of the items that can be modified. Call Dan for a good price on the tuner. Primary; (716) 691-5071 Secondary; (716) 877-6563
You'll get your choice of 2 tunes as well. Besides engine tuning you can change fan times, eliminate skip shift, bypass rear O2's, change rev limiter, so on and so on. I felt it was worth the money for the options I listed. But I honestly can't tell a difference in performance and I've switched back to stock a few times to compare. As per Dan you won't get a 'seat of the pants' improvement with an increase of +/- a few percent. Others may have had different experiences but these were mine. Besides changing tires this should be one of your first mods to the car IMHO.

Thanks for the plug! [note however, those are my FAX numbers, not Phone- Phone is 716-912-5336]

Yes, the SCT can change the characteristics of Fuel Cut-off, up to a point. However, you do have to be careful with excessive Fuel Cutoff times, as you are dumping raw fuel into the cats, which will cause them to overheat.

PS- Get to the Dyno and send us a file! All "box tunes" are excessively safe to account for variances, and you will not get maximum gains out of them unless you visit the Dyno.

Dan,
Sorry about the wrong number. I was in a rush. I had mine dynod last Saturday on a Mustang 4 wheel dyno. Will that work. If so I'll email it.

Yes it does but the graphs are in color and light as well as the numbers at the bottom. I'll try to scan it but don't think it will work very well with my HP scanner. I've had trouble before. If not I'll mail it or bring it with when I visit at Thanksgiving.

The numbers were disappointing but I was told to expect that with a Mustang. There's only one Dynojet in town so I could always bring it there.

As long as it has AFR listed, yes, that will help.

Sorry belonyskin for highjacking your thread. Call Dan. Le me know your results because I want to lenghten my popping as well. I don't have cats so I don't care. Hell I'd love pops of flame if I could get it. Shock and awe!
