I want to personally thank Rich Adams for getting us all excited about this event and Wayne Carrel for taking this to the next step (you'll see below)
History -
At our last meeting (2 days ago) Rich Adams mentioned the Cops and Rodders car show which he was attending and asked that any one who wanted to join to please come.
This is sponsored by Atlanta PD from what I was told to help kids in the Atlanta metro area.
This is the second year for this event. Last year they had approx. 175 cars.
Why you care -
Get this...... The show started out to have the best cop car in Georgia picked as a winner. (Some of the cop cars last year had 22inch mag wheels, DVD players et.al.).. It has evolved into more!
7am this Sat - Meet at the Mc Donalds at N Druid Hills and 85 (just south of 85 on N Druid Hills) - Here's why:
Sgt. Bicard [event organizer] was asked about having some fun with the cars. Long story short: We bring some vipers, we get a police ****** w/lights! Sgt. Bicard further stated that one of the police cars entering the event would be heading down from Marietta for those of you on that side of town, you'll get the extended caravan! The only thing that Wayne didn't specify was the recommended speed for the caravan I suppose that will be determined by the turnout on Sat morning.
Registration for the car show starts at 8am. We need to get an early start and meet with the respective police escorts more details will follow such as specifics, where to stop along the way to get great pictures for Viper Mag. and more!
Get to meet some of Atlanta's finest! You never know when you'll need a friend from this crew!
SHORT NOTICE......yeah, but like I told my wife: I'll just be gone for an hour or two honey!
Car show details can be viewed at www.shadetreemechanic.com/cops_&_rodders.htm
PS. Sgt Bicard knows a gentleman who is a member of the club... Hummmmm. It was stated that is viper was painted with stars and stripes looking something like a flag? Well we all know who this is. He is a MUST for attending if he can be prodded.
Let's go all out for this one. Even if you can't stay for the whole day, come out and show your support.
Weather? No big deal, its inside. And it might even hold!
Wayne Carrel is coordinating the caravan, so please contact 678-8989782 or better yet shoot a quick e-mail to me or Wayne (Wayne is [email protected]) if you WILL attend.
Personally, I'll be there with or without Viper just so I can take the pictures! Imagine the photo shoot w/ the backdrop of Atlanta perhaps we can close off the 17th street overpass and line up the vipers on it for a morning photo shoot the possibilities are endless!
Thanks y'all!
Joseph
