Gas shock question

I just took delivery of my 05 Viper. It came with an aftermarket carbon fiber hood on the car. (also have the original) Currently there are no gas shocks on the hood. The previous owner said not to use the original gas shocks as they are too strong for the carbon hood. Any suggestions as to what hood shock I should buy?

I hope you come up with something, it would be a drag to be rocking a Viper at a track day or cruise night, with some stupid ghetto broom stick. -thats something more appropriate for a late 90's ford taurus....all of them have one for a hood prop.

well if all else fails, just put one on, but be careful not to crack the hood,push the hood down gently on the shock side
