Gen 1 adding hood louvers?

I'm glad that a lot of you guys posted on my Gen. 1 commentary. Many of you mentioned the improved hood on the Gen. 2, and have made updates. I thought I saw somewhere lovers that can be affixed to Gen. 1 hoods? Are they non-vented and just for appeal, how do you affix them? Is this risky bec. you might damage the finish of your hood while attaching? Also, those of you have changed to a Gen. 2 hood, what is the cost to do that - 10 - 12K??? I am still hoping someone can give me a ballpark price on GTS '99-'02 wheels, and also a price on 4 Mich. Pilots to complete the upgrade. Also, can anyone recommend a popular and available 19" wheel for a Gen. 1? Thanks...Dave.

You can get a used Hood for much less. You will need a gen 2 airbox for function. Maybe $5.000 for a good used hood.

Is it just the look you want, or the function? If all you're after is better cooling, how about opening up the "speaker" on the left side.
