Can one of you Gen 1 owners please post a couple photos of the underside of your rear bumper and its mounting points? Also is your rear bumper soft like the Gen 2's, urethane? Etc? Thank you in advance.

I wonder a bit where you're going with this. Swapping a bumper? The gen 1 bumper cover is soft plastic and wraps way back underneath... similar to gen 2 but with no exhaust through the middle. I've never had a reason to get to the actual bumper mounting points on mine so certainly don't have any pics. I do have a body/frame book for gen 1 that may show what you're looking for if you can't find the pics you want. Hopefully somebody will chime in with some images.

I need a photo where the bumper cover bolts. No need to jack up the car, just put the camera low and snap a photo.

I have another thread where I made diffuser blades for gen 2's and I have a gen 1 guy interested in them though I don't know how the gen 1 bumper cover is bolted down or if its even bolts or rivets.

If none are posted by the time I get home from work, I'll go out a snap a few for you.

I read your other thread and was wondering how these might look on a Gen 1.
If you're able to make them I'd love to see the pic's.

Post me a photo of the underside of the rear bumper on your gen 1. I just need to see the bolts. They should be able to fit the early years as well. I'm pretty sure the only big difference between gen 1 and 2 rear bumper covers are the exhaust hole. I have one guy who has a gen 1 on the list for next batch, will see if I can get him to post photos.

Here's a couple pics of mine. Looks a bit less straight-forward on a gen 1 (to my eye).

Actually judging by the photos your rear cover mounts on the same way as a gen 2. The only part that makes it slightly more difficult is that you don't have stripes or a rear exhaust hole to line up the fins. You will be lining them up by eye or will have to find a reference point to make them straight. It seems they are compatible though. One thing to note is the fins will have to be bolts to the outer bolts, not the 5 directly in the middle. You can try to bolt a set there but they will be further out then the rest. I am not positive how it will look.
