Out of the blue the wife gave me the green light on a Viper purchase (I already have a Porsche 930). I'm looking for a Gen 2 and see many with crazy performance options - Paxton blowers, Hennessey Venom mods, the TNT high performance engines. These rigs will typically have brake and suspension upgrades as well.

What do you guys think would be the best performance platform for HP and reliability? I don't want to bother with Nitrous and will probably head to the track periodically (1/4 mile only). This car will not be my DD, just for fun, weekend getaways, etc.

Thanks for your input!!

I don't want to bother with Nitrous

yeah, yeah they all say that...lol

The TNT cars are going to be older builds, there might be more recent builds that are more efficient and better, dont rule out UG, DLM, dan cragin, A&C. 97-99 are typically what people will recommend due to the forged internals

Thanks! This is what I was looking for. TNT I guess has moved on to other interests and with Hennessey you never know what you're getting.

You forgot Roe S/C and a 3" exhaust. Free2Go can help you with the questions.

There must have been a time when Hennessey made cars weren't all bad. I guess there's no real way to tell though what you're getting. Mayber dyno numbers? A lot of people paid a lot of money for his shop to mod their cars. Then he let it get away from him etc. Many threads on this story line, but I imagine when he first started out, his work was good.

As the owner of a Henny 650R that was NOT AT ALL what it was supposed to be (I spent a lot of time and money fixing it), you do need to watch out for the engine mods....and a dyno is the easy way to tell that. The other mods are visible from 20 feet away (aero) and from under the car , brakes, shocks etc. They perform well if they are right and, for what its worth, an all motor 585RWHP is so much less finnicky than a blower-achieved 585 RWHP ;-)

I am selling a Blue and White Twin Turbo GTS if you want the ultimate GTS. 1120rwhp on pump fuel. Adjust down if you like and traction control.
