Is there any weight saving with the removal of the centre console hole? How many grams does the new cup holder weigh?

I would need to offset the weight of the cup holder to the weight of my stickers :D

Seriously, that's a very nice mod, Looks OEM. I have the MGW Glove box door with cup holder, it weighs a tonne and if you leave it down for too long it makes a dent in your centre console, its also awkward to reach your beverage, (But its great quality).

The large Rear wing on the car also makes a great Tea Tray for cakes and beverages when stationary :D

It's a liitle known fact that the original title for the show on Speed Channel was "Are you faster than a Canadian", then at the last minute they changed it!

More comfortable/enjoyable.... go figure, you must be a Canadian Red Neck!!!!

Man I feel like going back to a European Car with all these crap mods people do to their Vipers.... Why not add a dolphin to the hood and a thousand stickers to the Viper? Just buy a Neon and save yourself that 401K of yours.

Hey what a coincidence - I do own a "Neon", and I do drive it on the 401 (a Canadian Hwy reference). Here are a couple pics of it with my fellow Canadian Redneck!

Do people seriously think this will hurt the resale value of his car... Really? :lmao:
I see threads all over this forum where people post pics of their "entire" interiors being changed-out by Tony at Venzano and everyone cheers about how awesome it looks... LOL

Looks like a fine solution, nice job.

Nobody having the Mopar cup holder installed? Still looking for pics!! AFAIK no drilling or cutting required, it somehow attaches to the side of the center console.... recommended??

Here. Simple and works great. It's holding an empty 20 ouncer from my last cruise in October. Holds a quart no problem. Well within reach from the driver's seat. It goes on with velcro under the lip of the center console. So, for those that have aneurysms at the site of holes there are NO holes needed for the this. However, I do like ElevatortecGTS' console mod and since it seems to piss off so many people, I will drill two of them. :D Heck, I'll do the best I can to drill so many holes that it will look like swiss cheese. :lmao:

ViperTony,

Thanks a lot for the pic :2tu:. First time I see this cup holder installed. Guess, I will get one, too. But how does the velcro attach to the console so that it does not fall down???

There's a piece of velcro that runs all the way across the tab of the cup holder (the part that is tucked up under the center console) on the top. A second strip of velcro is attached to the inside of the center console and those two are married to create the bond.

Mod to your hearts content....if it make you, the owner, happy....go for it. Some mods enhance value....some hurt resale value, but if you're not likely to sell - who cares? ;-)

Love the pics and look at the guy signing... total class act. And to even add more insult to us redneck viper guys, a Neon beat the 4 vipers in Race the Runway Smith Falls charity event last year with a 1/2 mile top speed of 231kms

Here's what I did. Thanks to the wonder of Velcro..... I can remove the cup holders and save all that extra weight when I get a chance to go to track here in the Maritimes ;).

Glued Velcro on the inside,

Glue Velcro to the bottom of the cup-holders

Of course it does. How much is the real question. If there are two identical Vipers, one with a cut up console and one without, the one without will get sold first. The buyer will wonder what else is cut up on the cupholder Viper as opposed to the untouched Viper.

Great solution! Are those velcro ones only available from the dealer?

I also have one of these, purchased from a VCA member. I checked into these a few months ago and I believe the answer was that they weren't being made anymore and there were none available.

Ahh....a ****** Viper! You are to be commended. I think it takes a great deal of effort not to mod a Viper than it does to mod one. I certainly could not keep my Viper a ****** for long. Heck, between the heads/cam/rockers/headers/cats/breather system/exhaust/front fascia/mopar spoiler/toe bracket upgrade/stripes/diffuser blades/Mopar cup holder/vented cowl/seat lowering/floor mats/shift beeper/short shifter/transmission and engine mounts/lower temp t-stat/ported intake/modified airbox/brake ducts/etc. my Viper is a ***** compared to yours. I even took off the stock header heat shields to expose to those beautiful Belanger headers...sorta running *****-less so to speak. :D For good measure, I'm going to install the OPs cup holder modification. Yep, I'm going to drill into my center console. You call it a cup holder, I call it a belly button piercing. ;)

VPA has them on their website: https://www.viperpartsofamerica.com...002-dodge-viper-factory-drink-holder-82204416 Can also find them on some electronic bay.

Viper Parts of America has them for I think $28.00 or so.
