Gen 3 stock header size

The outer diameter is 1-3/4". I measured mine prior to my header purchase. I do wonder why some folks chose the 1-5/8" primary :dunno:

Yeah I saw the same thing where someone puchased b&b that were 1 5/8 and stepped to 1 3/4 thought that was small said they gained 40 hp on stock engine

Exhaust tubes are measured by outer diameter. I measured mine with calipers and am certain they are 1-3/4". My American Racing Headers and tune bumped me from 440whp to 500whp. This was with no cats and stock everything else, including OEM cat back with cross over.

The gain was at all points along the torque/power curve.

Did you measure the stock vs the ARE? Are they the same? I know the Kooks that I had were 1-3/4s like the AREs and were slightly bigger than the stock; I could tell because the plug access was less and required the smaller ARP header bolts. Did you use the stock bolts with your AREs?
