Title says it all. Need to get some shifters for the local club members.
Just wondering if the trannys are all the same.
TIA :2tu:

Yes they are.

That's strange.

The folks at Rockland Standard told me that the Gen III tranmission was not the same as the Gen I and Gen II. They are both Tremec 56's but according to them there are some differences and the Gen III is a bit stronger.

The Gen III Tremec part number is TUET 1806, rated to 550 lb-feet
The Gen I and II Tremec part number is TNET 1247, rated to 450 lb-feet.

I don't think they are the same.

It also looks like the TUET 1806 is heavier

If they are the same, what is the explanation for the differences in torque capacity (100 lb-ft) and weight of the two transmissions?

(edit)
Are we all talking about the same thing? Are we discussing transmissions, or shifters? It may be that I misinterpreted the gist of the question was.

They have the same form factor, with the exception that the gen2 has a speed sensor hole in it that does not exist in the Gen 3. Otherwise they are the same on the outside.

The Gen 3 does have stronger internals.
