Has anyone had their coolant crossover on the gen I leak and had it serviced under warranty? I have the added care extended warranty (which says that it covers cooling and fuel systems). The local dealership says that the gasket on the crossover is NOT covered under warranty.. I spoke to Chuck Tator who said it definitely WAS covered.. The local dealer basically said they ran the gasket number in their computer (which was a thermostat gasket number 07401010) and it comes up as not being covered. So basically what do i do at this point? dealer also quoted a repair price of $363 in addition to the $72 they charged to diagnose. If this really isn't covered, why the heck did i get cooling system coverage?
Any input here is appreciated! (too late to call chuck back today)

Can't help directly but I do know that this has been covered here before... try a search. From what I recall, people have had this replaced under warranty before.

Just had the same thing done to my 94 last week. I thought that the engine would go back to Arrow as it has been leaking for about 9 mos now. DM said "No" He deemed that it wasn't leaking bad enough. I'm beginning to think that the extended warranties we're being sold are worthless. The dealer also advised that the crossover gasket was the culprit. Dealer wanted $650 to replace. How can this not be covered by warranty? Chuck T, can you shed some light on this?
Thanks-Jonathan

I have had the crossover gasket replaced twice under warranty on my 94, with NO ARGUMENT either time. I don't know if I was just lucky or what? At that time, I was taking the car to Stevens Creek Dodge in San Jose (they are in the process of selling the dealership, and don't have a Viper tech anymore). Just took my car to Hartzheim Dodge in San Jose, and had very good luck getting an engine oil leak fixed under warranty. Since it was the rear seal, they replaced the flywheel and clutch (with my parts, including light flywheel) for $120. Thought that was fair.

Of course it's covered!! It's not the Warranty at fault!! IT'S THE DEALER!
Call the "Service Contract people" at 800-521-9922 and complain to them about that Dealer, or find a Viper friendly Dealer! Some [most] Dealers just don't get it!?

Mine was covered too. Also replaced: Intake gaskets, transmission, half shafts.

A race car with a warranty, what a country!
