Gen II ACR Shock question...

I have heard from many that there are some problems with the shocks on the Gen II ACRs - is this all years or just the earlier cars?

All the Dynamic shocks will eventually leak

The 99-00 cars had Koni 2812s. Great shocks, but there's slack in the mounting bolt holes that make them prone to rattling. The later 00-02 cars came with Dynamic shocks. They are fine pieces for racing when you frequently revalve and rebuild, but their seals are crap for street use. The Dynamics also came with 1000#/inch rear springs that are 200# too stiff for a car with no wing. I think they did this so the pieces would be legal for SCCA T-1 rules which allowed the 98 GTS-R wing to be used.

If you get the manual for the car, it says that the Dynamic Shocks are SUPPOSED to leak and that it is a normal condition. If you search, I posted on this a few years back. You can get the actual page number for the statement in the repair manual.
