Looking to sell my S2000 and Aprilia sport bike and pick up a Gen II SRT convertible, but need info on trunk space. Is the trunk large enough for the soft top and a small suitcase? Mine will be used some as a DD and for some weekend trips. Also, I will be in the market for a Gen II convertible soon, if any of you guys are looking to upgrade and sell your current Gen II convertible.

If you have the spare tire in place not much space for anything but the top, maybe soft luggage like a duffle bag packed around the top and window. Just for information the Gen IIs are Dodges not SRTs. I have a 2000 RT10 with 13K I don't drive much I might part with.

Gen I and II RT/10s don't have enough space for both the soft-top and a envelope. If you need luggage space of any kind, get a GTS.

Gen1 1992-1995 RT/10(targa top) Only
Gen2 1996-2002 RT/10 or GTS(coupe)
Gen3 2003-2006 SRT-10 Convertible or Coupe

The Gen2 GTS's Trunk/Hatch area is huge.

In the RT/10 this is what you have to work with:

Somebody makes a chrome trunk lid baggage rack, doesn't look that bad and holds several suit cases, OR learn to travel with all your belongings in grocery store plastic bags, put them in spaces in the cockpit area, under seats, around back of seats, etc....

There really isn't a Gen II Convertible. It is not a true convertible. The model is an RT/10 and it is more of a targa style top. The first true "convertible", in that the roof can be folded up and down, is the Genn III or 2003 and on.

True trunk space is only possible if you pull the spare. I did that on my GTS (coupe) and the extra cu feet helps a lot. I have a ton of space in there now and take week long trips with two medium (airline carrry-on size) bags, camera gear and a bag with GoPros... I keep all that in there well below the rear deck so I can easily see out. It would be close to the RT/10 trunk.
