I had originally posted this in the "New Owners Questions" forum, and wasn't getting much of a response.... so I thought I would try it here :D

Below are some photos of my (2003) Gen III Throttle Body (bone stock), I was wondering if someone could explain the plumbing involved?

1) Drivers side Throttle body hose = ? (maybe to sample intake O2?)
2) Drivers side electrical connector (on plastic) = ? (maybe intake air temp?)
3) Passenger side Throttle body hose = ? (maybe PCV related?)
4) Passenger side electrical connector (on aluminum casting) = ?

First Picture shows TB head on, it looks like two hoses and two electrical connects. I would like to understand what each is doing. The other pictures show drivers/passenger side detail.

Thanks in advance!

1) Drivers side Throttle body hose = ? (maybe to sample intake O2?) From the valve cover both hoses 1 and 3 I had mine go into seperate K&N filters but you need to hook them back for ca smog tests.
2) Drivers side electrical connector (on plastic) = ? (maybe intake air temp?) yes
3) Passenger side Throttle body hose = ? (maybe PCV related?)
4) Passenger side electrical connector (on aluminum casting) = ? Throttle Sensor

I Hope this helps.

I was asking because I want to install a polished split smooth tube/filter kit. I have narrowed my search to the Hennesssey or RSI units, and am trying to determine which of these 2 kits allows me to use (re-connect as stock) all the factory hoses and electrical connections. Neither kit has bungs for both hoses :(

Here are some shots of the hennessey set up installed. I Used a small Air filter for the Vacuum line and the rest went together like the factory.

The intake still retains the stock bottom tray, it doesnt come with a new one.

Thanks Matt, the close-up pictures really help :2tu: Do you see anyway the AZ filter could be hidden from view, or is the alternator in the way?

you may have to get a new air line and run it somewhere to hide it.

I had an RSI on mine for awhile but, went to the K&N unit (same thing different day) I just hooked up the breather tubes to small K&N filters. I thought it always looked pretty cool but, the problem I think is this. the top of the air filter body does not fit therefore you have to run it off and that's all fine and good but you must be pulling the enemy of HP, warmer air form the motor bay. As for the holes for these lines you will nee to drill new holes and seal them somehow.
