By the silence, I'm guessing that would be a 'no, what the he** are you thinking'...
Was just wondering since the ACR is such a beautiful car and I'm not one to have a garage queen...These cars were meant to be driven and short of the Cups I was kicking around the idea of picking one up.

I would disagree with the above when it is wearing PS2's.....HUGE difference, and needs to be set on full soft of course. Mine is in that configuration and I would say it's only 10% firmer than my 06 on run flats. And that extra firmness is really only felt when going over substantial bridge strips etc.

I know where you're coming from; I'm a "drive it!" kind of guy, too. I have to admit that the beauty and holycrap styling of the car (once it's in your garage) have changed my original opinion on dd'ing the car. When I bought it, I thought I'd commute with it once a week (~64 mile round trip). I think that may turn into more like every three weeks or so; it's honestly a little bizarre to be in the midst of your typical back-and-forth to the office traffic in your race car. Absolutely therapeutic for a long day at work, though.
Now I'm much more likely to dd another car and try to make it home in time to take the ACR out somewhere more open and twisty.
If you really love driving, the road noise and exhaust noise won't matter, even if you dd the car.

A friend does use his Gen IV ACR as a daily driver...in the South during winter, in the North during summer...and, on PS Cups for the first couple of years.

I use my Voodoo (#24 of 31) as a daily driver. I live in South Texas where the weather is great. We get over 300 days of sunshine. On the days that the weather might not corporate, I’ll drive my ford F-150 around.

Have at least a couple of customers I know of that switched over to PS2s and drive their ACRs almost daily - weather permitting.

Sorry guys, I was trying to be funny last night after a few drinks....
If you live in an area with some bad roads like we have here in Houston, it will be a rough ride on stock tires, even with the suspension set at full soft. It is really a race car for the street ya know. I still wouldn't trade it for any other Viper. Give it a shot and let us know what ya think.

The only reason I wouldn't drive my ACR daily is because of the roads/driveways/parking/a-holes that you have to deal with on a daily basis. There's nothing that messes my day up more than when some idiot slams their door into my car at the grocery store, or I'm in a hurry and can't find a 'safe' parking spot. Also, depending on where you live, going up and down driveways to gas stations, etc., can be dicey with an ACR. If you take the time to go up a steep driveway carefully (go at an angle) you can make most of them without scraping, but on a daily basis, you'll find a-holes tailgating and honking at you to pick up the pace.
So, from a functional perspective, I'd have no problem driving the ACR on a daily basis - it's comfortable, well behaved, and reliable. But, from a practical standpoint, I probably wouldn't do it unless I was treating the car like any other DD - namely, disposable and 'don't care' about dings, scratches, scrapes, etc.

Best statement on here as they are made primarily for the track. I sure like the PS2s though on my 09 ACR especially with my ******** as the cups make a lot of noise throwing stones around the wheels wells in the rear. PS2s are a lot more user friendly for the street. Cups on for the track though !!
Mine isn't the daily drive to the extent that i have no other choice, but it gets used pretty often on the commute, PS2s make a huge difference to street-ability, softer ride (still fairly bumpy) and less tram-lining in the ruts. I'd say the ride with PS2s is similar to a GEN 2, but you get AC that has settings other than Freeze or Cook

Also very true. I try to dd mine only on days that I can flex my commute hours farther off-peak.
I would DD one if you change the tires....I never noticed the rough ride part with the Sport Cups. I come from the 60's where our HotRods rode rough, and loud, etc, and so when I drive Cars like these I expect hard ride and some discomfort and such. Too me that is normal so it would be no different then people DD a vette or other sports car or HOTRod type car. If you can afford to spend $105,000 cash and changing the tires and don't care about high miles and depreciation (in the world of Vipers} and still keep it clean and shiny and looking good to represent all of us Viper Owners with pride, and not let it appear to be unkept and filthy and beat up, keep it as if everytime you leave the house you are going to a car show......DRIVE IT.. (and you don't have to drive stupid and show off like a mustang owner)...It looks Killer just sitting there and speaks for itself. DRIVE.....

41,000 miles on my 2008 Viper Coupe (bought brand new w/34 miles in January 2008). I hate not being able to drive it to work actually. Rain or shine, I'll drive it. It's actually been in 3 hail storms over the past one month I can't say she's had an easy life, and I know it's not worth as much as other Viper's, but I got it to use the car, and I know it blows a lot of people away to know what all I put the car through.
Although, I'm 28, and just love having that much power. In fact, I can't imagine driving every day without 600 hp
