So whats needed to put a GenIV transmission into a Gen3? Is it an easy swap out? I have a clutch change coming up and well it might make better sence to swap out for a upgraded trans with low miles and clutch?

So anyone done it and can shed some light?:dunno:

Hi, Shandon. Will let the experts answer your question...BUT, would remind you that RPM Transmissions can explore, beef-up, polish your tranny at a very reasonable price...and, they can change gears if you like. There are many out there who will confirm their good work...including your President...close to Indy at I-69 Exit 34.

I did mine with the Woodhouse/MGW shifter....thanks Mark.... So far so good. With the Mcleod clutch, the engagement is a little different compared to the T56, but I love it. The true test will be the next Texas Mile, to see how 5th holds up to 1300 rwtq.

Yes we did Bobs and this was the first time it had been done. He has thousands of trouble free track miles on it.

Clarification. I don't have thousands of trouble free track miles on it but I do have thousands of trouble free miles on it including some road course track miles and a few acceleration therapy sessions. :D If you are going to do the swap, make sure that you also get the MGW/Woodhouse shift mechanism. I also had the Gen IV differential installed at the same time. I kept the Gen III clutch because I like the heavier pedal feel and I have had no issues. The change over was done in January, 2008. It was very interesting at the time because Mark and Aaron actually figured out how to do it before anyone else in the country including the SRT engineers. You can't beat that Midwestern inventiveness. Thanks again Mark.
