I absolutely LOVE the new Viper! However, it's definitely disappointing to know I'll most likely never own one anytime soon, unless I eventually made more money from work or won the lottery lol. I'm 28 and not rich, so owning a 96 GTS was a huge accomplishment when I bought it 4 years ago and I felt very proud since not too many people can say they own a Dodge Viper in the first place anyway. However, when I was younger I felt the price range of a brand new GENII GTS was somewhat attainable even though a 60k-70k car is still a lot of money. With that being said, this new GENV GTS starting at a minimum of around 100k does not seem "as attainable" for obvious reasons haha. For that reason this car being revealed and soon to be on sale is very upsetting because I want one so bad! Yet, I'm so excited the Viper lives on and as much as a tease it will be to see one in person, I absolutely cannot wait!

The only price that is firm is for the base Viper, which will be 99K, this from the mouth of a very reliable source who we the
viper community know and trust. The comment after that was pricing has not been finalized on options and it will be a few months. I only say reliable source because I believe that the alcohol was flowing that evening and maybe the comment should not have been made.

^^^Agreed 100% on the right under $100k figure. While I am sure you can get to $137k with a bunch of options in the GTS, there are ways to get one much lower in the base model. Even one of the magazines quoted a base price estimate starting right under $100k.

The range I heard was just a tad lower on the bottom end and a lot lower on the higher end. With that being said the car has a lot of options and one interior option is well over 10K to upgrade.

Cannot imagine anyone buying just the base model. If so, they will wish later they bought the GTS or even better hold off until the ACR version is out. I can see a lot of trades in 2014.

Considering the overwhelming majority of Viper owners polish their cars far more than they "drive" I have no doubt that many of the base will be sold.

Believe that more Vipers will be ordered over $100k than under $100K due to the desirability of the options.

Dodge knows pricing well. The car will make me want it, the price will make me buy it...

Yeah, there's no way. My HOUSE was 155k. It's gonna be a few years before I can throw around that kind of coin. I'll keep tearing up the road with the '95...probably gets more attention than that beat up old GEN V anyways.

Not enought "WOW" factor in it for me to go out and spend over 130,000 on a glorified Gen II Viper.

Now the GTS-R version, I would spend 200,000 for. Thats a WOW factor and has been since it drove up on stage that one rainy day in NY, or was it sunny, hmmm

The Gen V is a "glorified" Gen II?

Makes sense. The $137k number is absurd. Not even close to that amount of options worth over a $95-100k base price. I think $120k max. Probably no more than $115k.

I was told 120k for GTS. Like everyone else, nothing official so i am going to wait and see.

137k is just stupid. Think about it, 37% increase for interior/hood/wheels with no performance increase? Good luck.

I wouldn't be suprised an optioned out GTS is 135K.

At that price, the Viper wont live long. The oridinary Viper guy will be priced right out of the Market. And i really think the majority owners of this car are just that.

IMHO, you're on the target for the GTS. Esp if you go for the top grade interior.

IMHO, a basic SRT with track pack is going to be ~105K

And lets not forget that other little incidental called sales tax which no one ever seems to mention.
On a 125K car, here in New York it will add 11K to the bill.

I think 137,000 on the higher end with all the goodies would sound about $25,000 too high..... I would say max 100,000

The reality is just as it has been for decades with the Automotive Giants, and final pricing will tell us the real figures. Keep in mind the pricing for the Jeep SRT8, which changed almost immediately after announced once they made certain options required.

The 137+ figure has been laughed about by many at SRT, so that is probably one of the best signs that that level will not likely be attained. Comments have been stated that they ( SRT and Dodge ) want to keep the prices at certain levels, but many hear what they want, since at the present time, no one was said these prices were set in stone. Proposals and estimates are not finite, but rest assured SRT is listening and have been throughout the past year to concerns from the faithful on price points.

Well said. SRT knows better. $137k optioned out is priced WAY out of market for this car. It's a nice ride, but there is nothing ground breaking with it. RIght now the Dual Clutch and AWD cars are what's hot. At $137k you are in their back yard.

From what I have read from perhaps Bill & others in the "know" -- Sometime late August if my memory serves me correctly. Right about the time you can start ordering them

I'm betting a loaded GTS will sticker somewhere around 120k - in ZR1 territory, its most direct competitor.
