My old car has died looks like the bottom end has gone due to oil pump fail..
There might be a Gen2 motor avaiable and wondered if it was an option..
I know arrow used to do this under warRanty on Gen1s..
All the best

I looked into doing this back in 99 when my motor went. The two major differences were the cooling hose routing and the electronics. Then there are the little things like the throttle linkage. I'll try to find my notes to see if there was any other major changes.

BAZ,

Sorry to hear about your loss. Hope this turns into an opportunity to drop in the Gen II!

gen II? why not go gen III?
I can't be much harder, and if you're going to go through the effort, you might get a little more recognition for it.

People will NOTICE the genIII, they may never notice the genII.

Yeah that'd be a kick ass mod... Assuming the creampuff was deleted.

I'll answer for Baz as he's just gone away for a holiday, and I dont think he will be online

His old red RT sold onto to another club member, unfortunately it seems the oil pump has failed which in turn destroyed the bottom of the engine... :(

There maybe a gen2 engine available in the UK, so it possibly could be easier, quicker and cheaper just to swap engines rather than re-build the damaged one.

Viper parts, never mind engines are very hard to come by here no chance of a gen3 unless imported, which i'd imagine would be loads of hassle to fit.

"creampuff" meaning cast pistons, gen III along with most other high performance cars have them. Your marshmallow is not a better engine, maybe you should switch.

I'll switch to a Gen III are long as you pay for the forged piston upgrades... I'll have my money ******* into more than 6lbs of boost.
