Kinda cool but I hate all Subarus.....they are for old farts and girls that live together if you know what I mean.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to start with a complete used Boxter and turbo it? At least fit and finish wouldn't need any tweaking unlike any Factory Five bodies to start with! Liked the idea better of a Datsun 240 Z with Viper engine I saw someone put together.

I have seen more than a few Gen V Viper videos now where during the shift the brake lights come on.

Also, it's that damn plate again! FKU 430! :rolaugh:

I'd rather have an old clapped out WRX.

I like Factory Five but I think they made the car uglier and less useful (except as a track car).

I personally would keep the WRX and have a very fun and useful (4dr) ******.

Cool looking car but we all know not even relative, just a point to show weight. There are plenty of other cars for under $50K that you could mod to kill a Viper; let alone anything out there. I think it looks like a cool track car; I am just not a builder so that is a turn off.

That's actually a pretty neat little car. Is it still AWD or did I miss that in the article? Knock em all you want, but I've ridden in a few WRXs and they're pretty fun little cars. Not really my taste, but hard to deny the performance.

My daughter has a 2013 WRX STI. Great car - like riding on rails. Of course that is a different model than WRX.

What I find compelling about the kit car is the HP to weight ratio. I think of this kit car in the same category as an aerial atom.

The GTM is pretty awesome as well. Seems to be in a very similar vein to this car in that you can pretty much buy a wrecked C5 and get most of the parts needed to finish the build that are from a donor car. You can sell off alot of the other stuff you don't use as well to recoupe some of the cost. Gotta figure there are plenty of WRXs and Vettes around to pull from as well. The big stopping block on the GTM is usually the transaxle though. That alone is something like 1/5 the cost of the car or more.
