Regardless who you choose, it is cool to Vote!! This will be one of the closest races in History, so believe it, your Vote does count. I have already made my marks for my candidates and hope you excercise your rights today also?!

I'm not voting. When they change the electoral college to a one person, one vote system then I'm in.

Bill, you think a vote for Kerry in Nebraska will make a difference?

I saw 'panels' of people in Florida last night throwing out votes because THEY thought the signatures looked 'funny'. Let the BS begin, at least the TV and radio commercials are over!

Well, I guess it is your right to not Vote, but I take the privilege pretty serious. I assume your question on Kerry is based on the fact that Nebraska is about 75% Republican, but regardless of whom one chooses, I do firmly believe every vote does count and one should exercise this right. I guess, from living around the World ( dad was an Air Force Fighter Pilot ) and being in Europe when the Wall went up, I really find the electoral process and the freedom we enjoy in the United States to be often taken for granted. With as close as the Election is this year, I am proud to make my small voice heard among the multitudes, in making the choice I feel comfortable with.

Bill, gotta disagree with you on this one. IF I voted for Kerry in SC, my vote would count up until the electoral stuff kicked in. Then whether Kerry lost by 1 vote or 1 million, my vote would be nullified. Same said for George W.

I agree that in a close race (Florida) every vote counts, and I would but when I speak to the average Bible Belt citizen in this area.....it ain't even close. Most of these people don't think, they just follow the herd (or the preacher)

The other issues SC is voting on? Mini bottle or free pour liquor. Who cares. Jim DeMint or Inez Tennanbaum for Congress. Hate 'em both, especially the commercials! Ugh.

Like I said, it is your right to disagree, not vote, or whatever. I view it a privilege and obligation , and I have existed long enough on this Earth to see apathy cost many more concerns than participation. I am glad I live where I can vote, and I have never missed this benefit since I was 18. I guess I am just a glass half full kinda guy, but I have seen many local races, State races, etc., come down to where if many folks felt like you the outcome would have been drastically different. That said, you are exercising your right to choose, by not choosing, and I am voting because I do feel we all can make a difference - plus if we don't like an outcome , kinda hard to complain if you weren't part of the process.

PS - Free Pour Liquor. Now I do have to wonder a bit about your priorities, since who wouldn't vote for FREE liqour - heck, that is almost unViper Club like.

Go FREE Liqour, and boy will folks be moving to South Carolina in droves.

Does anyone out there think this election will be as close as the media have led us to believe?

Should the Electoral College system still be used to select the president?

Yes, the system works. 28% 53004 votes

No, it's time for a change. 69% 130164 votes

Don't know 2% 4285 votes
Total: 187453 votes

Took the Viper to vote. Spent 10 minutes voting, and 20 minutes talking to neighbors.

For those who choose not to vote, I would imaging you would raise quite a commotion if someone tried to take your vote away.

Kind of like flu shots. Could not give them away until a shortage appeared, then the long lines started up, and the complaining began.

Vote or don't vote...it is your right!

Done.

I voted. Just like always. One of the poll judges commented that traffic this morning was much heavier than normal, but lighter at mid-day. Exit pollsters at work also. Wonder how those things works as I never given them an honest response.

I'll never complain. BUT I still have the right to voice my opinion.

They're both jerks.

Time for someone who knows how to successfully run a business to run this country, completely void of politics.

Won't happen in my lifetime!

My problem isn't with voting. I'd be the first in line if we had a popular vote system.

Screw the erectoral college, gimme the erections I had in college! (funnier with a japanese accent)

I 'would' vote for free pour liquor....except that mini bottles make our drinks the strongest in the country (unless you know the bartender). Yee Haw to that!

I voted. IT is a right that few countries in this world have and we should consider ourselves fortunate.

1st time voter, no lines out here in western kansas.

They make it incredibly easy for me to vote on the other side of Kansas too: My house is about 120 feet from my polling location. Even a lazy guy like me can saunter over and make his voice heard. Wife and I went together, of course. They had the latest and greatest touchscreen electronic tablets for voting (made by Diebold) - pretty slick. Four stations, with a total of one voter when we got there. Obviously no wait at all!

Proud to wear my "I voted in Johnson County" sticker they gave me after I wrapped up.

I had to fill in the bubble cirles with a pencil, similar to taking tests (back in the day). On a side note of our "technology" out here, some still have rotary telephones.

If it makes you feel any better, you are in the majority. Only three Kansas counties (of 105) have electronic touchscreen voting:

Definitely a nice touch, unless it loses power and thus all the votes... :D

I voted, after standing in line for well over an hour. However I never lay a guilt trip on someone who chooses not to. That doesn't make them less of a citizen. Freedom is freedom, whatever the choice.

Voted today took about 45 mins on new touch screen voting machines. Go GW and a state constitutional ban on *** marriage.

To Viperfreak. Remember why we have an electoral system. If it weren't for the electoral system, NY, Chicago, Miami Boston etc would choose the president for the entire country. If you look at the red states and the blue states the country is overwhelmingly red geographically speaking. I would venture most people in the poll above couldn't tell you jack squat about it electoral college.

0 minutes in line. Walked right up and voted. Of course I chose my time to minimize the potential for lines. 1:00 p.m. just after the lunch crowd departed.

Watching ABC and monitoring Foxnews on the internet.

One thing that I find amusing. Our governor (Democrat) indicated in the news tonight that clearly the state voters are asking for change. Note the current split is almost 50-50. And the Democrats won in 2000. Go figure?
