The technology consulting company my partner and I share had an automotive racing client that wanted their own branded lubricants division. We learned that racing is a fickle business, as they changed their mind pretty late in the game. The experience left us "better educated" and so with our newfound knowledge, we've decided to try our own hand at selling lubricants.

Here's the beginning of it:

I think this forum could provide comments and requests that would help us, so please feel free to ask and critique; suggest the next product(s) and so on. Thanks.

I wish you the best Tom. Tom is the most knowledgeable person I know when it come to lubricants and also one of the nicest people I have personally met.

Tom...best of luck.

On another note. Is there anyway to recover low mileage Mobile 1 for reuse in my daily driver. I have several 5 quart containers of Mobil 1 with less than 500 miles and I hate just pouring it in the recyle bin.

Thanks,

Carl

This will sound really crude, but was actually the norm when engine oil was first used. Let it sit for a month or so to allow any sediment to fall to the bottom. Then decant the upper part and use.

Modern oils will turn dark pretty quick, since the dispersant is designed to keep things in suspension. However, 8-10% of the "quart" is additives, so after the solids fall out, the rest is good for another 4,500 miles.

Or, buy some of our oil. ;)
