I don't know to what extent the overall profits speak to the future of the Viper, but my feeling is that Dodge/FCA has no intention of shelving the Viper. Despite its low sales volumes, sometimes you make a vehicle because it is the "halo" model of your line up, and even if you are losing money on it, it hurts the overall brand too much to discontinue its production. The thought of throwing in the towel and allowing the C7 to claim victory just doesn't seem to make any sense to me. The Viper was never intended to be a mass produced high volume vehicle. That is what makes it so special, and that is why people respect Dodge for making it. Respect is easily lost, and hard to gain. I don't think Dodge/FCA has any intention of losing the respect of its customers, or the sports car enthusiast community.

I have nothing good to say.

First, the SRT Grand Cherokee - at $75k, can't keep 'em on lots, yet 2013 Vipers at $85k, or less, sit unsold.

The HellCats are the current halo car for Fiat here in the states, although I prefer the Viper, personally.

There were a few more layoffs at the Viper plant, maybe as much as 15% (at least is some departments) I confirmed it this morning. I was also told that 3 Vipers a day is the current build schedule.

In HellCat news, 15,000 HellCat motors are to be built this year. I can't confirm it, though, so might not be true, I didn't hear it internally.

Shoot. It makes no sense. I LOVE my Jeep SRT, but what!? I still hope something cool will happen. Thanks for the current info.
