I've read about the R888's being available in 345/30-19's for quite a while but after months of waiting, I still don't see them being offered for us so I wrote Toyo and here's what I got back from them:

Thank you for contacting Toyo Tires USA. Toyo Tires is now producing the Proxes R888 in size 345/30ZR19 and should be released for sale in the very near future.

Thank you again for your interest in Toyo Tires.

Can't wait to run them w/ 315/30-18's in the front and 345/30-19's in the rear, AND since the Gen V's come with 10.5 wide front wheels, we can simply switch to them. Yeah I know these tires are noisy but it is a small price to pay for having the right size tires for my driving style. If you guys hear of any other model of tires with treadwear rating below 200 in 345/30-19 (tires like Nitto Invos don't count), please post.

Hey Bruce,
It seems like it makes good sense to run a bigger front tire, but if the Gen 5 reacts like the Gen 4 the smaller 295 front tire is better. We tested all the sizes and found that the 295 has plenty of grip on the front, it is lighter and lets the car steer and transition better, the big tire also slows down the steering.

Just my experience yours may differ.

Dan, your point is well taken, and I agree with you 100%, but these R888's I am referring to would be for my street use when the Corsas wear out, they are probably going to 1/2 to 2/3 the price of replacement Corsas, and they would fill the wheel well better than the stock 295's. For track and autox, I still prefer the Hoosiers much better.

I've heard great things about these R888 tires. Glad a viper rear fitment size is going to be available soon. The guys doing 19/20" combos have an option also as you can get the 315/30/20 27.6 tall) in an R888 from tire rack for 400 bucks each. Not sure on a matching 19" front. Maybe 305-30-19 at 26.5 tall.

I run the 315/35/20 NT05R on my SCed 03 and it is fine.

You don't really have a TON of tire options in 20" sizes. Especially a drag radial.

Also, the width measurement of tires is not 100% true from manufacturer to manufacturer. If I remember properly, the width is taken from the middle sidewall to sidewall. The top contact patch on two different manufacturers with the same width rating can have two different contact patch widths.

I also worry more about overall tire height more than I worry about width. Like the mustang guys, it took them forever to realize even if they put a 315-40-17 on their car or whatever, it was still only a 26" tall tire with a short sidewall that didn't grab traction. Anywho, that's all I have :)

Especially important with the shortage / blackout of SRT-sized Sport Cups.R88s are under $1200/set, offer front size options, [and you can pay even LESS for them at PartsRack! Thanks]
