I'd buy Velcro, stick it on, get it signed off, remove velcro. That is if it ever happen to me, not saying it has, but if it did.

JonB - Parts Rack!

Bought one before took delivery of my RT/10. Certainly looks better without it, but prefer the money in my gas tank than in the court's pocket.:nono:

Goes on and comes off easily, and holds plate securely when on.

Driving with no front plate you should be ashamed of yourself.

Laughing because I can not believe there are cops that would write a ticket for that. I would guess that is safer then looking for criminals. You Go Barney.

The guys in Texas were telling me that they passed some legislation in January saying if there is no place to mount it, you don't have to have one. I don't know if that's true or if that holds up in other states, but that's what I've heard about here.

The time I got warned about my plate I fed the officer this line:

"I've got a plate bracket on back-order through Chrysler, but since it's a 1993 and they discontinued the car they're hard to come by. All of us local guys have the darn thing on back-order...we're lucky if one of us gets one. They're a commodity among us!" That seemed to be sufficient; I got off with a warning.

yea.. Annapolis City Cop Barney.. so busy he just HAD to stop me - blocking narrow old high traffic city street in the process, all those nasty tourists anyway.. who cares if he blocks traffic to give a warning to one of those Viper criminals for not having a front tag on.. it's the LAW !
so sue Dodge ! they made it without, sold it without.. evil criminals !

Hefty,
JonB is the way to go. Don't screw around with anything else. And like Dave mentioned, if you keep it in the passenger footwell you can offer the LEO the "I just washed the car and forgot to put it back on... pretty please" excuse.
It's also a 2 second install (that's safe) snap to put on, so you can do it in a hurry.

Carry it in the car, tell the cop just washed it and forgot to put it on. I hate the front plate, but for 54 dollars there is no reason not to have one. I saved countless hastles by ordering one from jon

Bought mine at Jon B and it works pretty good. Very simple, easy to take off and I know it works good because it is in the trunk of my car right now.

Two years ago on Fathers Day I got pulled over for no front plate on a country road. Cop passed me the other way pulled a u-turn to come get me. He asked me where my front plate was, told him it was right here on the passenger floor. Asked me why it wasn't on the car...I told him 'cause it looks like schit. So he says wrong answer and wrote me the ticket.

I was not gonna give him the satisfaction, on fathers day that guys got some nerve.

That ***** for you people living in those front plate states! We had a state senator recently propose a bill to add front plates here in NC, so it would help law enforcement  , and I wrote her a nice letter against that idea. Thankfully she dropped it after a study came back about how much it would cost. Not so good, she's running for higher office here, so who knows what other bad ideas she's looking to push on the public.

I am not saying i will not get a ticket, but being part of the professional field, they extend the courtesy to EMTs.

Hate to admit it, but I've been a cop for 30 years in Jersey and I occasionally got some satisfaction from writing Vette guys for no front plate. Now, My 99 RT/10 has no front plate and will not get one. I have not been stopped yet but I certainly will understand if it happens. Yep, there are pricks out there, just like in every other profession.

Got the PartsRack unit here as well.

Now I was told that in Colorado, the legalese of the 2 plates on a car is just that, 2 plates must be present on the car and not 1 upfront and 1 in the back. So if this is really true, one could mount both plates on the back side :D

I haven't challenged the law on this however.

so far so good - plate legal requirement in UK, but many vipers run without - guess the stripes help scramble a cop's mind when coming from the other way! occassionally hear other car type drivers getting ticket for no plate. if i goto an event where police may be watching, i stick on stickers that sit within the stripes (specially made by UK Neil VCA member) - no way am i having a plate wreck the curves of my snake!

not my idea... but an earlier post suggest you run over the plate a bunch of times with another car and leave it in ur car... tell the cop it fell off on the freeway :D

I had the same thing happen to me except when the cop asked me why the plate wasn't on the car I told him it was because I was screwing his wife. He let me off with a warning, try it next time.
