What do you think? They're telling me I can get the coupe sooner than the convertible. (Coupe in the next month or so, Convert towards the end of year)

I already got 2 converts, so should I go with the coupe?

Everyone should have at least one vert and one coupe. I do although my vert is a Miata that I autoX. Go for the coupe. Be the first on the block to have a new 08 Viper.

We have the '05 vert, and if we had a choice now, we'd pick a Coupe. Since you already have 2 verts, why not get the Coupe, and you'd have it sooner rather than later?!! ~juli~
(What color/stripes would you get?)

Don't take this personally since others have asked the same sort of question - how can you ask someone else what you should buy!? You are the one spending the money so you should decide. There are some who would never want a coupe (like me) and others would not never want a convertible (not like me).

lol. The vote is split so far!!

I'm not sure the color, If I go with the coupe it will be what ever is first available, I'd like to get the new red (seems darker, more maroon) but I've never really been a big fan or stripes...

Because I can't make up my mind :D

And I like to hear the opinions of people who have both, or have a coupe... Keep in mind that I rent the Vipers, so think in terms of if you were coming to me to rent a Viper, would it be good to have that variety and do you think the coupe would rent as well as the vert?

It's a tough call, because I love having the vert being so close to the beach. I was up in Charlotte a few months ago, though, and saw a lowered FE with HRE's (I think), and it looked incredible. That is the way I'd go in the future.

This may help: Whoever is telling you the time lines is wrong: Both the Coupe and Roadsters will be produced during the same time frame, and neither should be expected to be in your garage before September. Good luck with your decision!

For what it is worth, I am on my 6th Viper and all have been verts. I do have a non-Viper coupe though for a daily driver.

I agree with a previous post to a certain extent: coupes are better for the track but if you get a real rollbar like I have you should be ok.

The way I see it, you can put the top up on a vert but cannot take the top down on a coupe!

I had the same (very short) discussion about this. I have one 03 vert, and a 97 coupe, so one more either way could be easy. But I thought this car would be so fast, and so trackable, and IMO they look better with the stripes, that I went coupe. We have 2 verts in the garage, that's plenty for me I guess...

Just an opinion so take it for what it is worth.

I like the stripes and the look of the coupe...(but admittedly I'm not a convertible fan)

I admire the convertibles too. Just would personally chose the coupe.

Good luck deciding.

I like the looks of the vert, I have an '06, but on the practicle side you have to put the top up when you're going to give it a good washing, there's more wind noise when driving with the top up and I worry about leaving it alone with the top down in a parking lot. I plan on trading mine in for a '08 coupe. Just some things to consider.

Glad that Chris beat me to it, as there is no difference in what you orderand how soon you will get it, based on a Coupe or a Convertible. Will there be delays if you want a specific color, or currently the two-tone interiors , for instance, sure.

A Dealer , regardless of size, can not tell you he will get a convertible next Spring, as no one has their allocations for that far in advance.

Hate to say this, as it is another one in our profession, but this is a very inappropriate bluff, and I would simply ask him how many cars he is getting this month ( he should know next week ) and can he get one for you.

Best of Luck!
