Hey All,

Wondering if someone can get out and take a measurement of ground clearance on a stock ride height GTS??

The board specs states 5.0" on a 96 GTS with 2 passengers, I thought I had read more like 3.5" to the lowest part that rubs on the front fascia??

Looks like my deal is coming together for this weekend, and will do a mock GTS fascia height on my daily driver on my somewhat hard approach angle driveway and see if the clearance is an issue.

Thanks gang, someone toss out a number so I can get busy with my wanna-be GTS cardboard fascia for testing

Hi Ryan,
I don't have my Viper handy to measure, but I was building wood ramps for it this last weekend and I think the bottom of the front facia (the lip that is perpendicular to the ground) is 4" off the ground if I remember correctly and the side sills are 5". I scrap every time I take it in and out of my driveway.

Thanks Ken, let me know your plan for the wood ramps when you have some time?

Permenant set-up, or pull them out to the driveway edge on a need to use basis?

Would a 2X10 in say 8 foot sections help the cause? The lip on the wood would only be 1.5" of course and even that could be sloped up to the 1.5", so I would think the car would go up on those without rubbing, or I am I way out here?

I knew it was low, but this might need some cement work attention, and soon.......

thanks again Ken,
Ryan

GenXgts, The wood ramps I built were to allow me to drive the car up on ramps to work on it, not to get in the driveway. I basically used staggered 2x12s like Tony mentioned as a pre-ramp for my Rhino ramps.

In my driveway, I only scrap at one small spot and it is just the bottom of the down-turned lip so it is not visible. A simple piece of 1/2" plywood would probably fix my scraping problem, but I am too lazy to get one out each time I take the car out and I know it won't stay around if I leave it out in the driveway.

Regarding the squirrel comment, if it is already preflattened, you should be OK, but I wouldn't try to flatten one in your Viper.

Just measured on my '02: 3.5" to bottom of down-turned lip on front fascia, and 5" to bottom of side sills.
Hope this is what you needed.

Thanks Ken, Cyclone, and others, I am going to try my cardboard mock up and see what happens at 3.5", I don't think it's going to be pretty......

Neighbours will think I am a real wing ding, this just confirms it!
