Hey all, I had a question about exhaust mods I'm looking to make down the road on my '98 GTS. It currently has a 3" Corsa catback with the the rear muffler deleted and replaced with a crossover. It also looks to have high-flow cats, although I can't tell what brand. I do know they look to be 3" inlets, 2.5" outlets leading into the resonator. A 2.5-3" adapter section was welded on from the header to the cat. Picture below, if that helps.

My question is, down the road I'm considering getting headers, something along the lines of 3" Belangers, and deleting the cat altogether. Will the 3" headers -> 2.5" resonator inlet be too restrictive, even if it's only 2.5" immediately before the inlet? And if so, what are my options to relieve that restriction? The car is otherwise stock besides smooth tubes and K&N filters in the stock airbox. Thanks!

You'll be fine. Maybe if you tracked your car then I'd make sure everything is 3".

It's likely a 3" inlet on the Corsa with the cat's 2.5" pipe going inside of it.
