Hey everyone I recently purchased a 97 GTS and am looking to spray. Going to be hooking up dual nitrous bottles and was wondering what is the most and safest shot I am able to spray on the stock motor...is 200shot ok? What should my whp and torque be around with such a shot? Thanks

200 shot is not uncommon on a factory forged motor. Just make sure you put in colder plugs and tune for it. It's generally a good idea to pull a degree or two of timing as well..

On spray, richer is safer. You don't want so much fuel that it puddles or backfires in the intake, but I think an 11.0:1 AFR would be pretty safe on the bottle.

If you spray in the intake tubes, any backfire will be outside the intake manifold. One small trick is to mount the NOS sprayer to the front of the fuel sprayer, this atomizes the fuel far better. When you install the plumbing, the cardinal rule is to never increase the cross-sectional area as you go forward from the bottle. When you set up the bottle do not use a thermostat on the blanket, use a pressure transducer to control the blanket. Make sure you get the the high volume bottle valves, the standard valves start maxing out at about 150 shot. There is no need for dual bottles unless it is the looks, they provide little or no benefit.

"The most" I know ppl have ran 300 stock forged internals. 200 is no problem.

Have Sean Roe send you a Nitrous base tune for the SCT to pull a little timing if you are going that high, then tune the A/F using the jets while on the Dyno. I ran a 125 shot for 6 years with no problems ever without any pulled timing, just 2 stage colder plugs. I tuned for a real rich 10.5 - 10.9 ratio. 11.0 seams to be the safest sweet spot.

As far as setup I was going to go with my nx nitrous dual shark nozzle setup I had installed on my ram srt10 before

I once used 100-shot on a Gen 1 using a Split Sec to tune with. worked great, never had an issue. It was a cheapy setup but a window switch and I had to be at WOT to activate it. Never had a bottle heater or anything. I never purged so it would soften the initial hit. The only other thing I did for it was to run 1-step colder plugs. This was about 4-5 years ago on my old Gen 1.

wow...handles upto a 400-shot! That would be sick on a Heads/Cam/Stroker Viper. That would hurt a few Twin Turbo guys feelings. 600rwhp + 400 shot on top would easily make 1100rwtq. I remember a guy running a Roe with a little bit of N20 making ~850rwhp and ~1200rwtq. I think his name was Mike or Tony or something like that. Lost contact with him. I bought some parts from my Gen 1 from him.

bottle pressure is very important, i used heaters but i hear good things about the nano. ~600rwhp and ~800rwtq is expected on a 200 shot. (mine was 577/856)

dont automatically go 2 steps colder on the plugs, mine ran best on 1 step colder, every car is different. the absolute most important thing is to dyno tune it before actually using it on the street. know your AF before spraying !

On an NA car you can actually add quite a bit of timing. If you make that your base tune, then, remove some timing for the NOS you are back to a OEM timing curve. My point is you do not have to change the OEM timing for NOS, it is already conservative.

A bottle heater controlled by a pressure transducer works extremely well. I had a bottle heater with both 12V and 120V coils. I could keep the bottle warm at the track and not kill the battery.
