who has one of these and where did you get it and pricing? Can you post photos of it so I can get an idea? I have seen one in person but it was a while ago and I forget how it mounts etc.

That is it. Can someone provide closer pictures? I plan on making one myself. Originally I was going to have my 1 speakers built into my car but I use my trunk too much so I am going to have that cover over that area of the trunk.

I know one of the UK guys got a sheet of thin plywood, covered it in the same material that they use for car speaker boxes I will ask 'Big Viper' if he has any pics :)

I have one. I will get pics tomorrow, what do you want to see? It has a velcro strip across the part that rests up behind the seats to keep it attached to the carpet up there. then you just need to add a little button-head screw to the plastic cover that is over the hatch latch (requires a hole to be made in the plastic). That's about as tough as it gets.

I think it has to do with the size of the box it comes as opposed to the weight. i.e. oversized.

That or it is trunk vault made from steel....I just thought it interesting. The piece should weigh no more than 5lbs. It is most likely flat, like an oversized poster, but you pay shipping on it as if it were 30lbs. Interesting....

this one i made not a very good pic though, i spent a few hours shaping a cardboard templete then cutting it out of 6mm MDF, i wanted better speakers as the stock rear speaker are quite poor so cut those into the MDF

then covered the top, wrapped the edges then covered the bottom in accoustic cloth which matches the factory carpet perfectly (applied with 3M spray glue) fabricated a little cloth handle so it lifted easy, and a velcro hinge. Then made a little sneaky pete in 3mm lightweight plastic, and this velcro'd on/off the accoustic cloth

i also did some quick release wiring so the shelf and speakers could be removed quickly from the car when required and the factory stock speakers would come back to life

i also sometimes had it rigged with cords attached to the stuts so that it would lift automatically when the hatch opened

once i showed a few guys in the club they wanted one as well so i knocked a few out, including 'Big Vipers' :)

Where do you park it with valuables in the trunk....that makes this important? Not trying to bust your chops, just curious. ;-)

Who me? I have a 10 inch sub sitting back there and because I use my trunk I am not building the sub into the trunk so i want to cover it so you don't just see a random box sitting back there.

for me it covered up all the stuff in the boot making it look a bit more classy, and stopped all the reflections of the front sized spare wheel bouncing around the inside of the car and rear glass
