What's wrong with wanting more power/performance to ensure that Viper stays ahead? Why be complacent and let the competition catch up?

It seems like there is a common agreement though. The Gen I/II cars win on looks, and feeling more directly connected with the road.

The SRT-10 wins in handling, braking, power and pretty much everything else.

My perspective (fairly unbiased) is that the RT/10 has the best profile (side views) and rear views (quartering or straight on). But the SRT has a slightly better look from the front. I like the GTS as well but it does not have that monster wide stance of the RT/10 from the rear.

But after seeing at the cars side by side for a couple of years now, I have formed the opinion that the RT/10 looks a little plain from the front. The Gen II hood and fascia do help a little though. No question from the drivers seat that the never ending RT/10 hood takes the cake.

Definatly not beating the SRT's...believe me, I remember trying to win won at MGM Grand for several hours.....nothing like sitting and looking at that sweet undercarriage pan and pulling the handle on the slots!

Seriously, just have a huge thing for the blue/white GTS.
And being a growing family man don't have the means to buy new, so bought a used(wrecked)GTS and doing the restoration myself. Buying parts gives new meaning to viper tax

Like the refined SRT..and DC IS raising the power so we don't have to worry about ma' MOPAR coming in 2ND.

GEN 1,2,3 each have their own highs and lows, so get what you want and ENJOY it!

As a noob who has owned a 98 GTS for two months, let me tell you guys that I did a run with the Arizona VCA guys last weekend and man the interior of your cars makes mine look even more like a kit car than it does by itself. And the brakes, sweet. A couple of the guys had hardtops and those SRT-10s looked great. Somebody please post a pic of an SRT-10 with the hardtop piece.

You made some good points however,you forgot to mention the RT-10 rear looks unfinished without the "rear spoiler" that the GTS has. IMHO form all angles the GTS trumps the SRT-10 and the RT-10.

You made some good points however,you forgot to mention the RT-10 rear looks unfinished without the "rear spoiler" that the GTS has. IMHO form all angles the GTS trumps the SRT-10 and the RT-10.

I actually think the RT/10 looks better clean, without aftermarket rear spoilers. RT/10 looks more exotic than the GTS, looking much lower and wider. (RT/10 is 44.0" high vs the GTS 47.0", with the same width of 75.7"). The SRT is taller and narrower than both.

Flame suit on! I have now have had four Vipers including a RT/10, two GTSs, and one SRT. I drive my cars. No garage queens for me! I have 25,000 miles on my '03. Frankly, I have gone to the dark side and am not coming back. Do not get me wrong, the previous generation cars are exceptional automobiles, but I can't go back. Life, like cars, is not static and progession occurs(or extinction). The SRT has been exceptional. I initially really missed my GTS but after more than a year of driving in all weather conditions, I no longer want another. I await the SRT coupe.

Guys,
I was one of the many who did not like the look of the SRT, but as time moves on, the more I see them the more I like them. Now I am at the point where I am itching to drive one. This trend will eventually get all viper owners/admirers, and the SRT will be accepted for what it is "another great Viper" and the current step in it's evolution to stay on top of the competition. I would never sell my slightly moded 96 RT, I just wish I could afford a SRT also, and a GTS, and (oh stop it). Thought about the raffle, but I think they have made that one a bit gaudy with the flame job.
