It'll only come to an end when you run out of this

My first year as a track rat I figure I spent about $100K, this includes upgrades, track fees, travel, and hotel expenses. And if you go to Hoosier R3S06s (which I did) you'll be needing new tires every 4 track days ($1,500 a set). Yup once you get bitten the quest for faster lap times gets expensive and I didn't even enter many races, this is from open tracking sessions.

:D

Well this thread has made made that  a whole lot lighter. You guys got me freaked out about the oil stavation, so I called JonB up and he hooked me up with a baffle kit I also order P/S braket and pulley too, so I won't be that guy at a VCA event this year. I know thats when it would break, my luck.

Holy Moo-la Batman! $100K ?!? Maybe I better stop now.

That doesn't include the $26,000 in warranty work done on my Viper the first 3 years. I gotta say my Dodge dealer was really good about the warranty work, my Dodge service manager ran into me at Willow Springs Raceway. I saw him walking toward me in the cold pit and I was like "uh oh", he came up and asked me to take him for a ride and walked away after with the biggest smile on his face, he was driving a BMW 331 :rolaugh:

After that I started to bring my Viper to the service dept. on my trailer with my Hoosiers still on it :headbang:

.........which Stoptech rotors would you recommend for a 97 GTS if he stays with the stock size rotors? ......

Unfortunately, StopTech no longer offers a direct - OE- replacement rotor for 92-02 Vipers.
In fact they never offered Gen 1-2 OE-rears, just fronts. Discontinued.

Heres a tidbit: DODGE does not currently have any Gen 1-2 front OE rotors avail ! If you are gettting ready for 2011 events dont wait too long to get some aftermarket rotors!

I don't think oil starvation is a problem with stock tires ( depending on the track) YOu are probably gonna be ok with this if you are an occasional track day. You can have a lot of fun without going to a track alignment and 6k in brake upgrades.
caveat...there are others much more knowlegeable on this than I .

sticky tires+track align+ big brake upgrade+fast track=oil problems
