That's the stock brakes for you. That guy has a few more worries than flat spotted front tires but it's why non-ABS cars need to get the rear tires more involved.

Of course he/she was an idiot and has no excuse for that. But with a small mechanical/safety upgrade the people in the white van that was hit could have stayed uninvolved.

Reading some of the replies I would expect the guy to be going well over the speed limit. If anything he accelerated in 6th gear (listen to the tone) and barely pulled a car length on the flow of traffic. The only time he really accelerated was at the beginning of the video and he wasn't weaving through traffic like a maniac either.

I think it was he wasn't paying attention very well and freaked, slammed on the brakes, end of Viper.

ABS or no ABS; the bottom line is, that was an over-aggressive lane change in way too much traffic. Driver went for what he may have thought was an open lane (glare probably was a factor) and found a lane clogged with off-ramp traffic instead. 100% driver error. This time, Viper power/handling characteristics had nothing to do with it; he could have done this in virtually any car out there, with the same result (though the repair bill might have been lower).

Wondering the same thing. I suspect it is someone just seeing it on the road. Since it appears it is not in the U.S., seeing a Viper would probably be a unique site. Notice that there doesn't appear to be all that much damage on the van, but that Viper is screwed up!
