Mind you, I'm a Chevy guy from way back, but.........
I'm at the gas station the other day when a guy comes up
to me after eye balling my car for quite a while.
"So, what's the story in this car ? It's a beauty !
I can't decide between a new Corvette or a Viper. What
do you think ?"
I told him to drive them both, and make a decision.
He thought that was a good idea, then asked if the Viper
was available with an automatic transmission. I told him
no, it was not.
"Well, I guess it'll be the Vette then, I can't drive a clutch"

No way... I'd rather go buy a beat up truck for my sons to learn in. Thankfully, I'm about 7 years away from dealing with that issue...

Both of my sons can drive a clutch, so that's not a problem, but I did try to teach my wife how to drive a clutch in it. That lasted all of about 5 minutes before we decided that for the sake of the marriage, we should not continue with the lessons

other way for me, never owned an auto, have driven a few they're more relaxing on longer, cruising type journey's, but rather dull. The merc/porsche tiptronic type gearbox probably gives the best of both worlds

I think learning stick should be a requirement to get a license.
Think of the advantages !!
"honey, i want to enjoy 1 beer at this outing please drive me home can't never learned stickshift."

or

"please move the truck i will only be a minute.can't never learned stickshift."

you get it... we are suppost to be improving education not reducing it!!
