Are installing halfshafts similiar to installing a driveshaft, as in are they close to the same install as a driveshaft? Im not a mechanic, but have worked on cars to extent, just wondering how long of a job it would be or would it be easier just to send it to the shop?

It's a pain in the ass to get the bigger ones in and out. You're much better off if you have a lift. To me, it's about $50 worth of pain in the ass. :)

Definitly easier with a lift, just remove the rear wheels, and take the shock assy. out completly, only two bolts, and remove the straps. Hardest part is removing and installing the straps.

I've done it a couple of times without removing anything. It can definitely be done, you just have to wiggle them around to make it wirk. Takes a little time.
