I just had my cats cut out along with the side mufflers on my 98 GTS. Random Tech hiflo cats are now in their place. This along with the snakeoyl sub delete combine to make the car sound like a logging truck. The problem is after I did all this the car every now and then hangs at 2k rpms when I depress the clutch and doesn't drop back to 1k rmps unless I let the clutch out a little to grab it back down. When this happened on my cobra it was due to a dirty IAC valve. What's the problem when a viper does this? BTW my other mods are K&N air filters and smooth tubes installed last week along with new plugs & wires.

try blipping it back down at lights.
there was a great post that had everyone chiming in on causes, my 97 has it as well.
kinda like cruise control on the highway, how nice.
leaking intake gaskets are often the culprit, however if the problem cropped up only after your exhaust mods surely it's related.
