Just finished putting A/C on my 94 and the compressor will not kick on. We jumped the pressure switch so we could fill the system and the compressor wont turn on. Maybe since the car did not have A/C it does not have the A/C relay? Also the system only seems to pull 22 inches of vaccum. Opinions?

The A/C clutch relay is in a bank of relays on the passenger footbox. There are five (I think) in a row; A/C, starter, fan, auto shut down and fan hi/lo. All except fan hi/lo appear the same as far as the diagram, so if you only have four on the car, try taking the fan relay (or starter after engine is started) and plug it into the AC position. Maybe all you need is the relay!?

Where are you measuring the vacuum - the AC system after evacuation?

Do you have a service manual?

PM me to get a quicker reply - it'll flag an email to me.

Do you have a service manual?????
Electrical Overview 1993 Viper

The instrument panel A/C switch is wired in series with the low/high pressure cut out switch and the evaporator temperature regulator switch. When these switches are closed, a signal is sent to pin 27 of the PCM.

If there are no other signals that override the request for the compressor to turn on, a signal from pin 34 will energize the clutch relay. The radiator fan will be turned on when the A/C clutch relay is energized or if a signal is received from pin 31 of the PCM.

As Matthew said, there are other switches to look for. Here are '94 service manual sheets - they are different looking. My gallery pix will have larger ones.

Any chance something is programmed different on the computer?

I know the computer wont allow the compressor to operate if the system is one can or more low on coolant.

I have a 93 RT/10 and would like to add A/C. Do you have any pic. of your install? How hard was it? and where did you find the parts. Hope you get it working soon.

Patrick, I have the original Mopar No. 82300566 10 cyl air conditioner installation instructions; 1994 Viper I could scan or fax to you for some help (if you did not use this already). Let me know.

Good Luck.

Can you fax it to me please, 817-428-3293. Thanks! There is one thing on the A/C heater box there is a electrical switch with a spot for two connections. I could not find anything to connect to this.

No, I did not see it. Does it connect to the a/c heater box?
