Has anyone used a tire treatment on their track tires?

A couple of guys at the last track day I went to mentioned they use a tire treatment to extend the life and grip of their tires. Anyone use one with any success?

I crazy glue sand paper to the outside of the tires. Works really good. And it makes the track nice and smooth.

I don't know how many responses you'll get on this subject as it is considered "taboo" for some racers. Some call it "cheating" while others call it "getting more heat cycles" out of a tire or "making hard tires soft again" I've asked this question before and got little feedback. Everyone wants to know about Tire treatments but are afraid to ask

You should be out of rubber before you run out of heat cycles. If you aren't, you need to drive harder.

Tire rack offers a treatment that heat cycles new tires so they are ready to use at the track. Other wise you need to run them a few laps to heat them up, then remove them for 24 hrs. This heat/cooling will condition the tires to be longer lasting, and more consistant. Not cheating, just removing the hassle factor.
