I would like to know if they have started production of the Final Editions yet?

Anyone here work at the plant? Thomas you still there?

I want to visit and take a few photos of my car being built, but I can't seem to get any info on when I should go.

Some have stated that their car is at D1 status, so I would say that they are.

I talked to my dealer today to try to get more info and came away with more questions than answers. I originally thought that they were going to make 360 of these cars but today was given the impression that they were going to make only as many as they had orders for by a certain date (which was last Monday I think). I was also told that the numbers were being assigned randomly such that number 1 would not necessarily be the first one built. Then we have the auction of the final one on May 7th - how can that be unless they build all of them between now and then?

It would be nice if someone who knew all of these details would fill us in. Is there a number we can call at CAAP to get some answers?

I think the actual number of Final Editions is 300 (definately not a order dependent number). All must be completed by the first week in July, which is the shutdown and changeover is planned for the SRT. I do believe CAAP is building the Final Editions right now.

Pamela Niekamp informed all of us at the Mid Ohio Viper Days that the Final Edition was sold out. All of our orders are in D1 status so things are definitely on a roll. Hope this is helpful.

My dealer has told me that I should have my Final Edition in my hands by the end of may, but I had my order in back in Feb...before they really even took orders...lol. It has been status D-1 for about a week now. Supposedly my dealer was originally not allocated a Final Edition, but they screamed for it really early and thus got on the begining of the list.

When Mark O, genXgts, shifter and myself were there this past thursday, the line was all red w/white gts's. No more RT/10s.

There was also a 2003 at the end of the line (red), and a couple '03s in the testing area (black and red).

Also had panels for the silver color.

They are building (if I remember right) 15 pilot '03s, of which these are 3.

I would also like to point out that I was the only owner to actually DRIVE his Viper to the plant, even though *ahem* two of the other guys lived just as far away as I did.

ahem, although I lived as close as others, I (unlike others) had to traverse a national boundry crossing, hence no Viper.....

uhhhh, or it was less than 100% sun and I chickened out and took the daily driver, although that sounds less manly, go with option #1!

Unlike genXgts, I feel no desire to try and develop an elaborate excuse for not taking my car. Plain and simple, the dew point was rather low that day.

the day they stop the real vipers and start the Sebring convertible vipers all our cars become classics!!
