Itching to do heads leads to two questions:

1) if I have some decent skills, is R&Ring heads a DIY proposition? or are there some sort of surprises in the project?

2) is the idea worth it if I keep my 708 camshaft?

[Dan, feel free to send me a pm indicating it is not worth my time to do it myself]

I'm not sure what decent skills means exactly, but if your very thorough and just take your time you should be fine. Low to mid 5's at the wheels with the 708 cam, depending on compression. Don't waste any money on TB's or porting the intake. Compression is your friend, ask Dan if that's an issue using stock castings. This is one of the distinct advantages of the Striker Heads (thicker heads, better cooling).

But I already have a 708 cam installed from the factory so it is free! In any event I decided to go **** and buy some wheels and tires so the head project is back on the back burner.
