I just bought a 2005 SRT10. Love the car. The only thing I like to improve is the sound. So I thought to modify headers and exhaust system, I like it to be loud (side exhaust).

Any suggestions???????

Headers no cats and a 3" Corsa Track is going to be your best bet. With the Track it will be very loud and there will not be any drone. I had that set up and loved it, but after a few months got tired of how loud it was so I started experimenting with mufflers.

Dynomax race bullets, Roe racing mufflers, Burns stainless mufflers. They all sound good but they all had drone at a particular RPM. From what I've seen on the forums all the other systems that eliminate the crossover have a drone.

Drone *****. Get the Corsa Track or go with a system that uses a cross over.

What if you only want it a little louder than stock and also want to improve performance?

Try the complete Bellanger system: headers, exhausts, hiflo cats, mufflers and chrome tipped tailpipes, without crossovers. It sounds great, not much louder than stock exhaust in normal operation, but when you punch it, it is probably 25% louder than stock. It does sound much lower and throatier, so anyone knowledgable can tell you ain't got no stinkin' "stock" exhaust. Mellow and responsive, adding anywhere (opinions differ) from 35 to 60 horsepower (at flywheel). It also looks great-though you can only see the ceramic coated headers and the chrometipped tailpipes. It also eliminates the heat soak from the crossover pipes and the side sills, which you can put your hand on without removing them from the heat! Lots of bonuses, though pricey unless you can work a deal thru a local Vipertech like I did.

You guys, he's got a 2005. It sounds like most of the replies are referencing Gen 2s..

have the full Belanger setup. Listen to it by clicking on the video link

Not sure how a GEN III would sound, but here's the 'rest of the story' on the Belanger set up (no cats). I'm a 1/4 mile away at the end. It's definitely MUCH louder than 25% over stock, although at cruising speed in 6th gear, it's similar to stock. I've been heard 2 miles away at WOT.

Hello,
i'm a SRT 10 owner (2006) and real my first step tuning was a full Belanger system(headers+exhaust)

My comment after it is 100% positive for my point of view:
  • Very good increase power hp;
  • save weight ;
  • cooler than stock with crossover (very important in summertime);
  • sound !!! all another affair than stock!!!!
So .... BELANGER is a very good modification :2tu:

Have a fun ;)
