Is there any way a set of headers that fit a 1996 GTS will not fit on a 1998? I am trying to sell a set of headers and some tuner told a potential buyer they will not fit. I cannot believe this to be true.

====> Is there any quantifiable difference between a 1996 GTS and a 1998 GTS as far as how headers will fit? Paolo

paolo,

I don't know the answer to your question, but when is your car going into Heffners? How much HP are you going for?

The "tuner" may be confusing the fact that the exhaust manifolds on the 96 and 98 are not interchangeble as far as bolting up to the factory exhaust system.

If the headers fit one GTS, they should fit the second GTS. With any set of headers, you may need to loosen both motor mounts and bump the low side of the engine up from below with a jack and a 2x4 at the mount to get the proper clearance through the frame.
