Gen III has much better engine cooling than Gen I or II in my opinion. That said, I took your post to mean excessive cockpit temps, not excessive oil or water temps.
Many owners who of Gen III's complain about excessive cockpit heat report excellent results after removing the crossover pipes in the exhaust and adding high flow cats at the same time. Before you go that route, I would check with fellow Texans concerning the above modifications and whether or not there is a problem meeting your state's emission laws...if any.
