How about a little bit of both? You could call your system the "Halo" system ;)

Great idea, and the first 10 people to call and confirm a "Halo DIY TT" order gets a free X Box with Viper logo on it and a bunch of racing games. Seriously though both systems should be really sweet when tuned and completed. :2tu:

Just wondering....

So far i've seen a few on here and the Alley that expressed interest in these DIY systems. So in that light, anyone else or someone you know interested in these systems either Paolo or Heff?

bike4Christ1, I would have to say that there is quite a market for these DIY TT systems since there are so many Roe blowers out there.

I believe that, in addition to the guys wanting around 600-650 RWHP, there are quite a few higher HP(800+RWHP) supercharger guys out there who might be tired of all the belt issues like what I had with mine.

This is why I made my system fully modular and upgradeable to fit the monster turbos that I had on my car and even bigger ones if one would so desire.

With my system, the average guy can get the basic turbos and eventually upgrade to monster power!

There is no other Viper twin turbo system out there that can do this period!

With turbo power increasing in leaps and bounds much like the way the most recent computer technology is practically obsolete as you are wheeling the cart out to your car, I want my customers to know the capability to upgrade to monster power is there should they decide to increase the power output of my system! :headbang: :headbang: :2tu:

Paolo:

I agree 100% with the upgrade idea, and glad you factored that in because well just like anything else if you buy a house... you want a bigger house. If you buy a DIY TT kit well.... you'll want a "bigger" DIY TT kit :D In any case there was something else I wanted to run by you, so if you could PM me that would be great, thanks

I'm interested, waiting for details, installation instructions, dyno results, additional mods needed if any, you know, just the usual stuff. I don't have any experience with turbos or blowers, so I wouldn't be a good cadidate for a pilot model.

Are turbos easier or harder to install than blowers, (ie Roe, Paxton)?

Are turbos any easier or harder to tune than blowers? What am I talking about? I don't know...Teach me everything!

Hmm, well after speaking with Paolo, looks like he's got a good combination going so far. Should be interesting to see what happens in the next few weeks/months....

Vic, You said "Teach me everything!"

==>If you have not yet read my 'details' post which has quite a good amount of general and specific information about turbocharging principles and how they relate to the art and science of twin turboing your Viper you should check it out:

http://vca2.viperclub.org/forums/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=UBB24&Number=551727&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1

I think the ease of installation depends on the turbo or supercharger system. Some of my friends that have seen my system have said the turbo exhaust manifolds look to be easier to install than an aftermarket set of headers. I know you have to remove the intake for the Roe Blower. I know mine will be fairly easy to install especially since the basic system will not require the cutting of the core support to fit the intercooler piping. That should be a plus for most guys. Our intercooler installation is not all that bad either but certainly more involved that not having to do it at all.

As far as mods are concerned, I would highly recommend swapping out your cast pistons for some forged ones.

If you do not want to go to the trouble and expense of a piston swap, and are looking for more moderate gains, I would definitely go the intercooler route and maybe run a bigger turbo to make the same power at a lower boost level :headbang: .

If you would like to discuss these options in further detail, please PM me your phone # and I will give you a shout.

It's amazing how much "details" you have to factor in to get an eficient system to work top level while also not hammering down on the motor. Even though the basic concept is "Air in....Air out" still alot of much needed factors for good operation. But once it's all built and tuned right that equals BIG power and TQ. Of course if you bike alot like I do, where as YOU are the motor... the only "TT" that you'll get is by goin to the gym, no intercooler needed :D

Chris, the great thing is this: when you are the motor and she is the blower, then you are truly blessed! ;)

What I can or cannot afford is of no concern to you pencilprick, a $10k Heff TT might be worth putting the paint off for a while.

More proof that most guys think with the wrong head, or are like a bus stop... if you get on with the wrong one, just get off at the next stop and wait a few minutes...another will roll by to "pick you up"
haha, sorry couldnt pass that opertunity up
keep an eye out for the vid coming to... Sweet!

OK I figured i'd bring this post back from the dead since completion times are getting closer and closer. I know alot of you are interested and rightfully so. I must say first off after speaking much with Paolo he REALLY has his game together and has all grounds covered with his upgradable TT system. When these DIY systems are complete the will no doubt be the best "bang for the buck" period. Also in case anyone wanted more info, on the second post page click on Paolo's link for Full details. :) Again, my friends Heffner's kit took his otherwise stocker snake to a 10.87 @ 133 on LOW boost, so the power is their for sure.

Yes, notice the Engrish! Regardless, none of those comments belong in this thread! If you want to act like a child, take it to PM or meet up and settle it like men
