This has likely been discussed before but I went to look at a '96 RT-10 yesterday and when I sat in it, it was apparent that the top of my head was a few inches over the top of the windshield. With the soft-top on, my head was touching the top and I had to bend my neck. I'm not that tall (6'2") but my back is disproportionately long. I know there must be other tall RT-10 owners about. How has this situation been resolved? Cheers,

Hamish

I have the same issue, 6'2" and about an inch or two to high. They sell lowering kits for the seat that will gain you exactly what you need.

But I guess the point of a convertible is to be able to drive with the top off. With about 3" of the top of my head above the windshield, I'd be getting blasted by wind and bugs etc surely? That's more of my concern. So the seat lowering kit seems like the option rather than the double bubble hard top perhaps...

Seat lowering kit will help for soft top. A double bubble hard top will solve all your problems.

I am 6'7 300 LBS no problem.....

:usa: :2tu:

Damn, your a Big ol' som'bich! :D

I've got the seat lowering kit too, but in my GTS. Never been in a RT/10 with a kit. But I have seen another 6'6" owner driving his RT with the top off and his head was sticking out about 3-4 inches!

Lowering your seat improves many things about driving the Viper (for people 6' and above).

First off your head is under the sports cap (rollbar) which feels more secure. And you don't have to duck down with the top on, and you don't feel so claustrophobic.

Plus you are no longer staring at the sun visor.
And sitting a couple inches lower in the Viper actually reveals more view of the road through the windshield, which is no longer filled with a view of the car's hood because of the improved viewing angle.

Lowering the seats is as much of a smart move as adding smooth tubes/K&N filters, and high flow cats.
Minimal effort and expense for a huge improvement.
