Help ! Driver\'s door won\'t open

My '02 ACR 's driver's door button will not open the door. The passenger side works. I've removed the door latch fuse and put it back in after a minute but nothing changed. Any suggestions?

Got the same problem on my 99, but it is sporadic, suspect the microswitch faulty, so will replace this soon.

I was at the office. My Viper had just had its brakes worked on. I have very little trouble convincing anyone at my office to pick up my car and deliver it to my house.

They parked it out front.

My wife calls in a panic. A hail storm is approaching.

I have the only key with a remote. She has a key.

I tell her that you can open the hatch reach in and open the door and then get in to disarm the alarm. Then it can be driven into the garage.

My next door neighbor who has a 928 volunteers to drive the car into the garage. His son follows my instructions to open the door from the hatch. Unfortunately the part about the latch being within reach at the back of the door does not get communicated to him.

He climbs in to get to the front door latch in the middle of the door.

He gets hopelessly stuck. He can still reach the door so he opens it. Since the clouds are approaching quickly his father drives the car into the protection of the garage with his son still stuck. (The Viper community should give out awards for things like this.)

After about 5 minutes his son is safely extracted from the car.

The moral of this story. Get it fixed. Climbing in from the back can be hazardous to your health.

Try disconnecting the positive battery cable under the hood - worked for me

Check the wiring at the door jamb. The loom just snaps into the door and the body. I've seen a few cars with wiring split in this area. dj

Nope ! Must be a bad switch or something. I tried all that was suggested ( minus crowbar ) and the driver's door still remains unworking. Thanks, guys. I'll see if they fix it Monday.
