Tom,
I know this is an OLD post, but am looking for a little clarification if you will - please.
You said:
The wire from the PCM to drive the tach is G21 20GY/LB* (a 20 gauge gray wire with light blue stripe.) One end is on the back of the tach, it passes through position #24 in the 50-way bulkhead disconnect and it's position #43 at the ECU.
Looking in my service manual, I found the tach wire as you described above, but where from the PCM do I find the wire?
The PCM connectors from top to bottom are BLACK, WHITE, GRAY. The G21 circuit with the gray/light blue wire comes from the PCM C31.
The coil driver wires come from the PCM, A1, A3, A5, A7, A9, and these are from the BLACK PCM connector.
I guess my question is then, are the A... pins on the BLACK (top) connector; B.... pins on the WHITE (middle) connector: and the C.... pins on the GRAY (bottom) connector??
If this is correct, then the Tach wire, circuit 21 would come from pin C31 from the GRAY (bottom) PCM connector??
My wiring diagram says cavity 31 (C31) from the PCM.
Thanks for your help, Tom
Later,
